# Automations

> Create, manage, and execute Zeplo automations from the CLI

Automations let you define recurring workflows and triggered actions within Zeplo. Use these commands to list existing automations, create new ones through an interactive wizard, or manually execute an automation by its ID.

## zeplo automations list

List all automations configured in your Zeplo account. Displays each automation's ID, name, trigger type, and current status (active or paused).

```bash theme={null}
zeplo automations list
```

### Options

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--json` | Output the list as a JSON array instead of a formatted table. |
| `--status <status>` | Filter automations by status. Accepts `active` or `paused`. |

### Examples

```bash theme={null}
# List all automations
zeplo automations list
# List only active automations
zeplo automations list --status active
# Export automations as JSON for scripting
zeplo automations list --json
```

## zeplo automations create

Create a new automation using an interactive wizard. The wizard walks you through selecting a trigger type (scheduled, event-driven, or webhook), defining conditions, and choosing actions to perform.

```bash theme={null}
zeplo automations create
```

### Options

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--name <name>` | Pre-fill the automation name to skip the corresponding wizard prompt. |
| `--template <template>` | Start from a built-in automation template. Use `zeplo automations templates` to see available options. |

### Examples

```bash theme={null}
# Launch the interactive creation wizard
zeplo automations create
# Create with a pre-filled name
zeplo automations create --name "Weekly Digest"
# Create from a built-in template
zeplo automations create --template welcome-series
```

## zeplo automations execute

Manually trigger an automation by its ID. This runs the automation immediately regardless of its configured trigger schedule. Useful for testing newly created automations or re-running one after a failure.

```bash theme={null}
zeplo automations execute <id>
```

### Arguments

| Argument | Description |
| - | - |
| `<id>` | The ID of the automation to execute. Find IDs using `zeplo automations list`. |

### Options

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--payload <json>` | Pass a JSON payload to the automation, overriding any default input values. |
| `--dry-run` | Simulate the execution without performing any actions. Useful for verifying the automation logic. |

### Examples

```bash theme={null}
# Execute an automation by ID
zeplo automations execute auto_7k3m9x
# Execute with a custom JSON payload
zeplo automations execute auto_7k3m9x --payload '{"user_id": "usr_42", "event": "signup"}'
# Dry-run to preview what would happen
zeplo automations execute auto_7k3m9x --dry-run
```
