# Contacts

> Create, list, import, export, and delete contacts

Contact commands let you manage your address book programmatically. Create individual contacts, bulk-import from CSV, search and filter your list, and export data for use in other tools.

## zeplo contacts list

List contacts in your account. Supports filtering by search term, tag, and pagination controls.

zeplo contacts list [flags]
```

### Options

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--search <query>` | Filter contacts by name, phone number, or email address |
| `--tag <tag>` | Filter contacts that have the specified tag |
| `--limit <n>` | Maximum number of contacts to return per page (default: 25, max: 100) |
| `--page <n>` | Page number for paginated results (default: 1) |

### Examples

```bash theme={null}
# List the first 25 contacts
zeplo contacts list

# Search for a contact by name
zeplo contacts list --search "Jane Smith"

# Filter contacts by tag
zeplo contacts list --tag vip --limit 50

# Paginate through results
zeplo contacts list --tag leads --page 2 --limit 50
```

## zeplo contacts create

Create a new contact. You must provide at least a name or phone number.

zeplo contacts create [flags]
```

### Options

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--name <name>` | Full name of the contact |
| `--phone <phone>` | Phone number in E.164 format (e.g. `+14155552671`) |
| `--email <email>` | Email address of the contact |
| `--tags <tags>` | Comma-separated list of tags to assign (e.g. `vip,leads`) |

### Examples

# Create a contact with a name and phone number
zeplo contacts create --name "Jane Smith" --phone "+14155552671"

# Create a contact with email and tags
zeplo contacts create \
  --name "Carlos Rivera" \
  --phone "+5215512345678" \
  --email "carlos@example.com" \
  --tags "vip,sales-qualified"
```

## zeplo contacts import

Import contacts in bulk from a CSV file. The CSV must include a header row with at least a `phone` column. Supported columns: `name`, `phone`, `email`, `tags`.

zeplo contacts import <file>

### Arguments

| Argument | Required | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `<file>` | Yes | Path to a CSV file containing contact data |

### CSV Format

```csv theme={null}
name,phone,email,tags
Jane Smith,+14155552671,jane@example.com,vip
Carlos Rivera,+5215512345678,carlos@example.com,leads
```

### Examples

```bash theme={null}
# Import contacts from a CSV file
zeplo contacts import ./contacts.csv

# Example output:
# Imported 2 contacts successfully (0 skipped, 0 errors)
```

## zeplo contacts export

Export all contacts from your account to a file. Supports CSV and JSON output formats.

```bash theme={null}
zeplo contacts export [flags]
```

### Options

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--format <format>` | Output format: `csv` (default) or `json` |

### Examples

```bash theme={null}
# Export contacts as CSV (default)
zeplo contacts export --format csv > contacts_backup.csv

# Export contacts as JSON
zeplo contacts export --format json > contacts_backup.json

# Export and pipe to another tool
zeplo contacts export --format json | jq '.[] | select(.tags | contains(["vip"]))'
```

## zeplo contacts delete

Delete a contact by its ID. This action is irreversible — the contact and all associated conversation history will be permanently removed.

zeplo contacts delete <contact-id>
```

### Arguments

| Argument | Required | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `<contact-id>` | Yes | The ID of the contact to delete (e.g. `ct_4b8g2n`) |

### Examples

```bash theme={null}
# Delete a single contact
zeplo contacts delete ct_4b8g2n

# Confirm before deleting (interactive prompt)
# Are you sure you want to delete contact ct_4b8g2n? [y/N]: y
```
