# Inbox

> Real-time interactive WhatsApp inbox in the terminal

The inbox command opens a real-time interactive session directly in your terminal. It provides a live view of incoming messages and lets you manage conversations without leaving the command line.

## zeplo inbox

Open the real-time interactive inbox. The inbox connects to your WhatsApp channel and displays incoming messages as they arrive.

```bash theme={null}
zeplo inbox
```

Once the inbox is running, you are presented with an interactive prompt. Use the internal commands below to navigate and manage conversations.

### Examples

```bash theme={null}
# Open the interactive inbox
zeplo inbox
```

## Internal Commands

The following commands are available inside the inbox session. They are prefixed with a colon to distinguish them from regular message input.

### :help

Show the list of available internal commands and their descriptions.

```bash theme={null}
:help
```

### :list

Display all conversations. Each conversation is shown with a number, the contact name or phone number, the last message preview, and the conversation status.

```bash theme={null}
# List all conversations
:list
```

### :open

Open a conversation by its list number. After opening a conversation, you can type a message directly and press Enter to send a reply. All messages in the conversation history are displayed.

```bash theme={null}
# Open the third conversation in the list
:open 3
```

| Argument | Description |
| - | - |
| `<n>` | The conversation number as shown by `:list` |

### :close

Close the currently open conversation and return to the main inbox view. The conversation itself is not deleted or resolved; it is simply removed from your active view.

```bash theme={null}
# Close the current conversation
:close
```

### :quit

Exit the inbox session and return to the terminal.

```bash theme={null}
# Exit the inbox
:quit
```

## Typical Workflow

A typical inbox session follows this pattern:

```bash theme={null}
# Start the inbox
zeplo inbox
# Inside the inbox session:
# 1. List your conversations
:list
# 2. Open the first unread conversation
:open 1
# 3. Read the message history, then type a reply directly
# (just type your message and press Enter)
# 4. Close the conversation when done
:close
# 5. Open the next conversation
:open 2
# 6. Reply and close
:close
# 7. Exit the inbox
:quit
```
